Welcome to the Saquish Beach Land Trust website. We hope to unite the community and provide an avenue for existing trust members to submit payments for membership fees.

The Journey Begins

With the threat looming of being publicly owned, fifty two Saquish Beach residents united on February 22, 2018 and purchased land between the centerline of the Boulevard south east to the mean low water line on the front beach with good intentions of keeping the beach privately owned and usable by Saquish Beach, Head, Gurnet and Weastern Pt. residents. See the map and FAQ for details.

Board Members

The board of trustees governs on a majority vote discussing topics such as yearly dues, regulations, membership, financials and communications.

Chris Phillips (Beach Trustee)

Carl Cederquist (Beach Trustee)

I have been coming to the beach for over 55 years. My family has owned a cottage on the back road looking out at Clarks Island for this amount of time and now I have my family and grandkids enjoying our place. My grandfather was an original landowner who owned for over 75 years and I have many aunts and uncles that also had cottages. As a child, I learned to swim, clam, fish and party at the beach and want to pass some of these things on to my family. I am a retired software systems engineer and professional  swim coach.

Robert Newhall (Beach Trustee)

This will be my 54th Summer on Saquish. I enjoy spending my time with family and friends on the beach. I have a small carpentry business that I have run for almost 30 years.

Lisa Todd (Gurnet Trustee)

My husband and I both grew up in Duxbury but have lived in Hingham for 30 years. We have two adult daughters who have been lucky enough to spend most of their summers on the Gurnet. We purchased our place with my parents and my brother in 2001. We are located between Upham’s and Caldwell’s in front of the lighthouse.

Warren Bush (Western Pt. Trustee)

Resident of western point for over 25yrs. Originator of the Saquish Beach Land Trust.

David Endicott (Head Trustee)

I have been coming to the beach since the fifties. I’ve owned land since the seventies. I bought a cottage on the Head in 1994. I am a retired firefighter.

Renee Phillips (Treasurer)

Biography coming soon.

Casey Wibben Meichsner (Secretary)

Grew up at Saquish and purchased a cottage in 2016. Seaglass hunter extraordinaire, fisherwoman in training, favorite dessert – golden brown s’mores on the fire.

“Smile over coffee and the sunrise, let the sound of the waves bring peace, appreciate the freedom of living off the land, spend time with those you love, find magic in the joy of the children playing on the beach, get excited over the brightness of the stars.”
